Santa Maria Homestake Mine                                     Listing Price: $1,750,000

Crosby Mining District

Yavapai County, Arizona

The Santa Maria Homestake Mine is located within the Eureka mineral province of Yavapai County and is in the Crosby mining subdistrict along the Santa Maria River off of US Highway 93. Originally discovered by the Spaniards in the late 1700’s and worked intermittingly by arrastras until the first lode claims were staked in the 1890s. Intermittent production occurred from the early 1900s to 1942 by the Big Stick and Arizona Homestake mining companies and since then has lay dormant until the early 1980’s when several exploration programs were conducted and a brief mining operation occurred in the early 1990’s but soon closed due to low gold prices and recovery issues.

  • Approximately 200 acres of unpatented lode claims on BLM administered lands, surrounded by Arizona State Lands.
  • Underground primary lode gold/silver reserves with the potential for additional selective bulk tonnage open pit targets within the existing claim block.
  • Potential for expanded reserves through additional exploration and drilling within and outside of claim block. Vein system is open to resource expansion along its strike length and to depth. Documented vein mineralization for 1000’s of feet across multiple parallel vein structures
  • Former Mill Site located adjacent to the Homestake mine area.
  • Documented and active water rights allocation to 20-acre feet for mining purposes and 0.5-acre feet for domestic purposes.
  • Current documented reserves with supporting geological documentation of over 163,694 ounces of gold.
    • Proven/Indicated: 65,600 tons @ 0.32 oz/ton for 20,992 ounces gold.
    • Inferred: 509,650 tons @ 0.28 oz/ton for 142,702 ounces gold.

The Santa Maria-Homestake claims are located in T12N, R9W, in sections 21 and 28. Sections 21 and 28 are located on state land with the claims filed and administered on federal BLM lands and is in good standing. The property is located on the south bank of the Santa Maria River south of US Highway 93 and approximately 37 miles northwest of Wickenburg, Arizona.

Access to the property is via unmaintained dirt road that is accessible 2¼ miles east if the Santa Maria River bridge near mile marker 163. The dirt road leads south from the pavement and northwest to the mining claims. The main workings of the Big Stick Mine is approximately 3 miles from the highway and is immediately accessible by the dirt road. The Santa Maria-Homestake Mine is approximately ½ mile further up the road.

The mining claims are located in the Sonoran Desert zone of Arizona. The vegetation is the typical mix of saguaro, cholla, and prickly pear cactuses mixed with palo verde, mesquite and creosote bushes. The desert climate is hot in the summer and mild in the winter allowing for year-round operations.
